Digital Protractor & Angle Finder FAQ

Common questions and guides for using the Digital Protractor & Angle Finder.

How do I measure angles online?

Use the Interactive Protractor tab. Drag the red handle to set your desired angle, or enter a specific angle value and click Set. The protractor displays the angle in degrees, radians, and pi fractions.

How accurate is a digital protractor?

The digital protractor is accurate to within 0.1 degrees for on-screen measurements. For physical measurements, accuracy depends on how precisely you align the protractor with the object. The gyroscope mode provides real-world tilt accuracy using your device's sensors.

Can I measure roof angles?

Yes, use the Inclinometer (Gyroscope) mode. Place your device flat on the roof surface or along the roof slope. The gyroscope sensors measure the tilt angle relative to gravity, giving you the roof pitch angle.

Can I measure corner angles?

Yes, use the Interactive Protractor with Camera Overlay in Fullscreen mode. Align the base guideline with one edge of the corner and drag the red handle to align with the other edge. The extended guidelines help reach screen edges.

How do I find a 45 degree angle?

Click the 45° preset button or enter 45 in the angle input field and click Set. The protractor arm immediately moves to show a precise 45-degree angle with extended guidelines.

How do I find a 90 degree angle?

Click the 90° preset button, select 90° as the max angle limit, or enter 90 in the angle input. The protractor shows a perfect right angle. You can also use the inclinometer to verify 90° surfaces.

Can I use a digital protractor on my phone?

Yes, the digital protractor works on phones, tablets, and laptops. Use touch to drag the protractor arm on mobile devices. The Fullscreen mode provides an immersive experience on smaller screens.

How do I calibrate a digital protractor?

The on-screen protractor requires no calibration for digital measurements. For the gyroscope inclinometer, ensure your device is on a flat, level surface when activating the sensor for accurate baseline readings.

Can I measure angles from images?

Use the Camera Overlay feature in Fullscreen mode. The live camera feed appears behind the protractor, allowing you to align the protractor guidelines with objects visible through the camera.

How do I check if something is level?

Switch to the Gyro Inclinometer tab and activate the gyroscope. Place your device on the surface. The inclinometer bubble shows the tilt angle in real time, with 0° indicating a perfectly level surface.
