Checkers rules?

Pieces move diagonally forward onto adjacent dark squares. Capturing is mandatory: if an opponent's piece is adjacent and the diagonal square behind it is empty, you must jump over and capture it. Multiple consecutive jumps are allowed. When a piece reaches the opponent's back row, it becomes a 'King', which can move and jump both forward and backward.

How to play checkers?

Play starts with each player controlling 12 pieces. Take turns moving one piece diagonally. The first player to capture all of their opponent's pieces or block them from making any legal moves wins the game.

How to set up checkers?

Place the board with a dark square in the bottom-left corner for both players. Each player arranges their 12 checkers on the dark squares of the first three rows closest to them, leaving the middle two rows empty.
